Batteries
Car batteries are an essential component for the operation of the vehicle, as they provide the electrical energy necessary for starting the engine and the operation of the electrical and electronic systems.
Car batteries are classified according to their technology into:
- Standard: These are the most common and economical, but also those with the shortest lifespan and resistance to charge and discharge cycles. They are made up of lead plates and liquid electrolyte (sulfuric acid diluted in water).
- AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat): These are sealed batteries with the electrolyte absorbed in a fibreglass mesh. They have a greater capacity, longer life and resistance to vibrations than standard batteries. They are ideal for vehicles with a Start&Stop system, which require a greater number of starts.
- EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): These are batteries that combine the characteristics of standard batteries and AGM batteries, with greater resistance to charge and discharge cycles than the former and a lower cost than the latter. They are also suitable for vehicles with a Start&Stop system.
Car batteries are also differentiated by their capacity, measured in ampere-hours (Ah), which indicates the amount of energy they can store; and their starting power, measured in amperes (A), which indicates the intensity of current they can supply when starting the engine. These values depend on the size and consumption of the vehicle, so it is important to choose a battery that is appropriate to its characteristics.
It is essential that the battery has the same size and polarity as the original battery in the vehicle, so that it can fit correctly in the compartment intended for it.
Car batteries are an essential component for the operation of vehicles. Without them, the engine would not be able to start, nor would electrical systems such as lights, air conditioning or radio be used. Therefore, it is important to choose a quality battery that offers good performance and long durability. Some of the best car battery brands are:
- Bosch : It is a leading brand in the automotive sector, offering high-performance batteries with a great starting capacity and excellent resistance to extreme temperatures. Its batteries are compatible with most car models.
- Tudor: This is a Spanish brand with over 100 years of experience, offering batteries with an excellent quality-price ratio. Its batteries are resistant to vibrations and corrosion, and have a good recovery capacity after charge and discharge cycles.
--Yuasa: Yuasa batteries are high quality products that offer optimum performance and long life. These batteries are used in a variety of sectors, including automotive, transport, industry, leisure and sport. Yuasa batteries are manufactured using innovative technologies that guarantee greater energy efficiency and lower emission of polluting gases. Yuasa batteries are tailored to the needs of each customer and meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.
